Our week in this beautiful corner of Mallorca certainly was heaven on earth. Thank you Rich for a week of exceptional walking with a first class guide. The hotel is a real gem with great views , amazing food and lovely staff. Everyone on the group was very friendly and good fun. As for the weather it was perfect blue skies all the way !

What a fantastic holiday!!
The walks were challenging but very enjoyable and achievable. The Majorcan scenery was outstanding. The group we walked with were superb. Everyb⁹ody was so friendly and we all looked after each other and we thoroughly enjoyed our evenings with everyone. The accommodation and food for the week was excellent.
Rich led the group and what an excellent guide he is. Very knowledgeable on the walks and the history and culture of the island. He worked hard to ensure everyone was coping well and enjoyed the trek. Also he is a ‘great bloke’ always happy to talk /chat and share a joke.
We will definitely be signing up for another adventure with Rich in the future

It was a recommendation that brought us to Mallorca for the ‘Mallorcan Classic Trek’. What a superb recommendation it turned out to be. Rich is an excellent guide, and has the depth and breadth of knowledge of the island to make the whole experience very special. There is no doubt that we’ll be booking another adventure with Rich.

I couldn’t have loved this trek more. I was pushed to my limits every day and felt completely safe in Rich’s care and experience. Which left me free to soak in the experience of being in the stunning mountains of Mallorca. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

Thanks to Rich we have just enjoyed a fantastic week in Mallorca on his “Classsic Trek”. It is my 4th walking holiday with Rich and this one, like all the others was perfect. What a fantastic 6 days. We saw mountains and sea with lots of laughs along the way. Rich has tread this path many times so we felt totally at ease and safe the entire time. Time to take in the views and enjoy the scenery. Some good challenging climbs along the way. Thoroughly recommend this holiday to anyone who is a regular walker used to a few mountain walks.

The name says it all. Classic! A fantastic experience on every level. I went with 3 friends but had made more by the end of our week! Rich is a knowledgeable guide who treated us to great routes with simply stunning views (especially the one from the top of L’Ofre), great accommodation and the best fare that Mallorca has to offer. Thanks Rich, look forward to the next one!

Ever since we made a day trip with friends, we’ve wanted to walk the island. We had our own thoughts and ideas about the island but hey, we were seriously blown🤣away by the unexpected sheer beauty of the island.
The accommodation you organised for us was absolutely great and all our eating places gave us a strong flavour of the way these unique and privileged island people live their lives. As you said, not withstanding the advantages, we have lost much in our consumer-led, materialistic, technology laden world.

What a privilege and a pleasure for the Crew to be on the inaugural Southern Trek.
The accommodation and quality of the walks were tops.
Destined to follow in the footsteps of the Classic Trek.

Yet again a wonderful holiday … some fairly challenging climbs, but so worth it for the views.
Varied terrain & even a swim in the sea at the end of one of the walks – you wouldn’t believe the variety such a small island provides.
Plenty of laughs along the way, good food & selection of restaurants made for an all round good time.
Thank you for your excellent guiding, patience and organising of us all throughout the week … you even managed to get a whale to show itself on the return ferry journey – made our day!

Yet again Rich, you came up with the goods!!
Tenerife was more breath taking than we could’ve imagined (not the ‘Benidorm’ experience expected!) – the routes you led us along were full of variety, views & interest – “Wow!” being the most common expression heard. The group were great fun to be with, the hotels & meals varied & excellent, the drivers – yourself & Ed, confident & awe inspiring! La Gomera was the most beautiful of places, we just loved it – wonderful friendliness of the locals & superb hill walking (even if there always seemed to be more up than down!!)
Thank you for all your hard work putting together such a comprehensive tour, it really was one of your best.
Hope to meet up with group members in the future for more laughs, chatter & good walking experiences

I would not normally have chosen Tenerife as a holiday destination ( too “touristy” for me), but Rich took us to some totally out of this world places on the island which has given me a much better insight into what is on offer. Such a huge variety of scenery from the almost desert/moon like terrain of the Teide National Park to the lushness of the Anaga peninsula. As ever with Rich’s tours – brilliant guiding from Rich( and thanks to Ed for letting me follow his footsteps up the gully of La Fortaleza), wonderful friendly company ( thanks to all the couples who didn’t make me feel like a singleton), great accomodation, good food, and all accompanied by wall to wall sunshine for the entire week. Shame it’s the last one so others will not experience it all. Hope you all had a good time on La Gomera and I look forward to more adventures.

We’ve been on several holidays and many day walks with Richard and enjoyed them all. He always seems to strike the right balance – not too strenuous but not too easy, not too wild but certainly very interesting. Rich always finds nice places to stay that give you a taste of real Spain, and the walking is always great.
I very much recommend taking the Sierra Nevada holiday. Rich will give you the attention you crave or leave you in solitude if that’s what you want.
Great value too. Go for it!

Another brilliant trip courtesy of Rich, along with a very friendly group of walkers.
As vegetarians, we have been really pleased with how Rich has catered for us. All the meals that he arranged for us were excellent – it’s not always easy to get good vegetarian food in Spain but Rich always succeeded. (The wine was good too!)
Rich took us on some brilliant walks – including Mount Teide on our rest day!! They weren’t all as tough as that, tho! Lots of variety of landscapes.

Richard Strutt is a wealth of knowledge. As someone who did not grow up in Majorca, Richard has perhaps a better appreciation for the island than someone native to it. He is funny, careful for his guests, experienced in gauging what suits the group. He has a passion for this place which rubs off on his guests.

Rich is a character.If you want great walking and scenery with fun with an informative guide who loves Mallorca and manages to share his passion and knowledge and also feeds you well in some variable and remarkable locations then we commend this trip to you. We hope one day to repeat the trip in springtime. M and D

16 of us from the Adirondack Mountain Club based in Lake George New York, USA, hiked for seven days from Pollenca to Lluc Monastery to Tossals Refuge to Soller (two nights here) to Deia to Valldemossa. It was an incredible experience over excellent trails with some of the most spectacular panoramas in the world. The weather was perfect. The meals and lodging were all different, unique and wonderful. We also had a superb group of strong hikers who enjoyed each others fellowship.
This was all made possible by Rich’s complete and dedicated devotion to our every need. Our Club will repeat this trip in 2012 and no doubt again in 2013. I am sure this will now become an annual Adirondack Mountain Club Adventuire Travel Trip.

It was the most memorable holiday I have had after a car accident 10 years ago. I had avoided any physically challenging holidays and were unsure whether I could manage more than the first day. However, even though I was very tired every evening, I found hiking enjoyable – like walking meditation where one’s mind gets empty. The scenery was worth all the effort and occasional rain.
The company was absolutely hilarious. From before I only knew my schoolmate almost 40 years back in life, but the rest of the eight could all give me some new perspective on life.
Rich guided and took good care of us all the way and made me feel safe. We got good food whereever we came and I slept like a baby. What more can one expect from a good holiday? And yes, I felt a lot more fit and full or energy afterwards. And now I am planning my next

We enjoyed the very good walks and the pleasant weather, the accommodation were just as we imagined, and the food was local, plentiful and tasty. Add to that a guide with a superb knowledge of all aspects of Mallorca, the ability to feel what we wanted, and a sense of humor that we would expect only from a real Englishman.
The only drawback: It was bitter cold when we returned to Copenhagen – minus 4 degrees. But by now we are used to it, and it warms a little to learn that you had rain after we left..
In conclusion: Thank you very much for a successful vacation that we will remember with delight in the years to come

San Telmo was the best of all the (many) walks we have done with you over the past 13 years….and we have enjoyed them all.
Didn’t think Porto Pollensa could be bettered as a base but San Telmo is idyllic. Varied walking with superb views, flowers and birds a great extra

Well organised and most enjoyable trek, hard but not arduous. The route,the company,the weather,the accommodation and the food were all ideal. I can recommend this trek to anyone who is an active hillwalker.
Now back home to find a sleety, rainy, gloomy and cold Highlands.

Thank you so so much for the wonderful trek of the Mallorcan mountains which we completed last weekend.The arrangements were seamless and caring and as a result everyone had a wonderful time.
The wonderful weather we had was a bonus and the resulting high visibility was stunning.I will never forget standing on Lofre being able to see the bays of Palma and Pto Pollensa at once .
For anyone who wants to see the real Mallorcan mountains and tracks this is a must where onward transfer of baggage each day made the trip a whole lot more comfortable.
The food,accomodation and company were brilliant and you will have to go a long way to find a better more caring leader than Rich.
So in every regard I can thoroughly recommend this trip for anyone thinking about it and Im already looking forward to my next trip

You never cease to amaze us, we always enjoy our walks and Treks with you, but this one was just exceptional.
The Accomodation at the Hostal was very comfortable, peaceful and welcoming by Sylvia & Daniel at the ‘Hostal Dragonera’ and the Location was spot on too, we had beautiful sea views and it was great to swim in (easy to enter from the sun terrace). The typically Mallorcan Cuisine was most enjoyable, with plenty of wine thrown in.
We loved every minute of it in San Telmo and can’t wait to go back next year.
The walks were spectacular and varied in their terrain, some challenging but all doable!
The Landscape was full of surprises…Wild Orchids, Birds of prey, and many more…well done

Richard never disappoints – After trekking with him over the last 12 years, I am always amazed how he still surprises us all with new and wonderful places on an island that we thought we knew fairly well.
Thanks for Randa and Mondrago, the after-dinner torchlight treks, the unadulterated fun at Tossals, for all that delicious local cuisine with plenty of vino – where do I stop?
We have enjoyed great company watching beautiful sunsets, swimming in hidden bays and, of course, who could forget the “ballet” at Cuber Dam?…

Having just returned from another great holiday in Mallorca, I looked at my diary to see how many years had passed since my first visit, and was amazed to discover it was back in 1998. I’ve returned most years since then. The walking is superb, Richard is a fine leader with great knowledge of the island.
If you enjoy scenic walking and haven’t been before, give it a go – you wont be disappointed!

My first time in Mallorca and certainly not the last. Joining Richards’ walking tours ( I did 3 in the week I was there)really made my holiday. I saw places I never could have alone and the company was alway good. I particularly like the aspect of the walks where there always seems to be a bar in the most unexpected place.
I’ll be back!

Have been walking with Richard for a few years now when we visit Mallorca in October. His B grade walks are of sufficient length and cover some very interesting terrain and will satisfy the appetites of all enthusiastic British hill walkers. The C grade walks are also very enjoyable and are suitable for anybody with a reasonable amount of fitness. Richard always sets a comfortable pace to suit everyone and entertains his groups with historical accounts, details of the natural history and the surrounding landscapes. Travel arrangements are excellent as Richard picks you up at or near your hotel and drops you off again at the end of the day. There is usually the opportunity to grab a coffee at the start of each walk and also to enjoy a well earned beer at the end before the bus journey back to Puerto Pollensa. Weather has always been brilliant during the third week in October during our visits and I would recommend the services of Richard to anyone who was thinking about doing some mountain or coastal walking in Mallorca.

Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience.
Location Idealic, Superb accomodation with balcony overlooking sea across to the island of Dragonera.
Walks spectacular and varied with great company.
(Rich)Guide Excellent and very informative.
So enjoyable we have booked again for next year
